This small town owned a powerful fleet of ships, many colonies for all the mediterran sea, and marine's law (Tabula de Amalpha). Our limo drivers suggest..
The most important excursion of Amalfi is to the complex of the Cathedral made by two communicating churches, a crypt, a stair, an atrium, a church tower. At first probably, there was only a little church in paleo-cristian style, during the IX century, this old church was rebuilt in two or three aisles. Now inside the church we find transennas, banisters and portals in marble with Byzantine and arabic artistic elements, that came from the VIII and IX century. Today, by each part of this complex you can discover all the long history of this city. When you finish this little tour you could continue your excursion on board of scialone limo by the coast, visiting Ravello (about 15 minutes by limousine) or Positano (about 20 minutes by limousine) the nearest cities.
